Placeholders
As aAdministrator, you can insert placeholders into Knowledge texts.
Each placeholder is defined via two parameters:
- Keys
- The key is displayed to the editor in the text during the writing process, it is generated by the system.
- Title
- The placeholder title is used by the editor to find the correct placeholder in the selection list.
- Value
- The value is displayed to the consumer. You can make the value stand out from the rest of the text by using design elements.
Placeholders can be managed (created, edited, deleted) by the administration and inserted (read) by members of the editorial team.
Add placeholder
- Open via the navigation menu.
- Select Add placeholder from Add menu.
- Enter the placeholder Title and Value in the placeholder dialog. The Title is used by the editor to find the correct placeholder.
- Save The placeholder.
Creating placeholders during text editing
- Start editing a Knowledge text.
- Select the text passage you want to convert into a placeholder.
- Open the context menu.
- Select Convert to placeholder.

In the placeholder dialog, specify a title for the placeholder.
Editing a placeholder
- Open via the navigation menu.
- Select a placeholder from the list.
- Select Edit from the action menu.
- Edit Title and Value.
- Save Your changes.
Deleting a placeholder
To learn how to delete a placeholder, see the following section.
Warning: When you delete a placeholder, the ID of the former placeholder is displayed to users at the locations where the placeholder was included.
- Open via the navigation menu.
- Select a placeholder from the list.
- Select Delete via the action bar.
- Confirm that you want to delete the placeholder via the dialog.
